Ray is the Deputy Secretary for the Department of Transport.   He is responsible for the successful delivery of the Victorian Transport Plan, a $38B program of infrastructure and related works.

Ray has extensive experience in the development and delivery of large complex strategies and programs of work in a range of differing environments, including Defence, Information Communications and Technology and Transport.  

Ray has spent 25 years managing within innovative and change orientated environments.  Ray’s background is diverse and varied, including some 14 years in the Australian Army, which he left in 1994 as a Major. Senior general management roles at NEC and Fujitsu Australia followed, where upon Ray commenced his involvement with the Victorian Government in 2002.

Ray has a Masters in Project Management and a Post Graduate Diploma in Telecommunications and Systems Management.    

Ray loves all things outdoors, is gregarious, engaging, and quick to the point.

		<title>Mental Toughness February 2010 - Lindsay Gaze Olympic Basketball Coach</title>
		<description>Mental Toughness Podcast February 2010- This month listen Lindsay Gaze. Lindsay is an Australian basketball player and coach. He played for Australia in three Olympics between 1960 and 1968 and coached the Australian basketball team at four Olympics between 1972 and 1984. Gaze coached the Melbourne Tigers for 35 years, including 22 years in the National Basketball League (NBL), winning two championships in 1993 and 1997. He was the coach of the year in 1989, 1997 and 1999 and is second in the all-time number of coaching wins in that league. Lindsay Gaze is a member of the Australian Basketball Hall of Fame as both a player and coach and an associate member of the Sport Australia Hall of Fame.

		<title>Mental Toughness September 2009 - Fiona DeJong AOC General Manager Sport</title>
		<description>Mental Toughness Podcast September 2009 - This month listen into former lawyer and triathlete Fiona de Jong. A former international triathlete and lawyer, Fiona joined the AOC in 2004. As Director of Sport, Fiona is responsible for managing the key aspects of the preparation and implementation of sending Australian Olympic Teams to summer and winter Olympic Games - most recently our Team to Beijing. In this role Fiona primarily manages the selection of athletes to the Team, accreditation, Team uniforming, and accommodation allocations in the Olympic Village. She also works with the AOC Athletes Commission and Medical Commission to ensure the 75 medical staff and 250-odd support personnel appointed to the Team deliver the best medical, coaching and sports science support to our athletes. 

The Beijing campaign was a 4 year project culminating in 750 Team members travelling to Beijing for the Games. 435 Australian athletes competed during the 16 days of competition and brought home 46 medals. A result placing Australia 5th in the overall medal tally. 

Prior to the AOC, Fiona was a lawyer with international law firm Blake Dawson Waldron and later moved to project managing legal aspects of large eCommerce projects and mergers in the finance industry.
