Facing Failure and Motivation to Succeed

I have missed more than 9000 shots in my career.
I have lost almost 300 games.
Twenty-six times I have been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed.
I have failed over and over and over again.

And that is why I succeed!  (Michael Jordan)

The final frontier where no-one is prepared to travel. This forum is usually included as the concluding session to the 3 day executive development program.  There are no modules, there are no workbooks, no journals and definitely no PowerPoint. This truly experiential session, brings you face to face with failure and how we negotiate it. The forum is usually run using a variety of individuals including several TV personalities and sporting stars.
It explores what motivates us – highlighting the 2 theories of motivation which suggest an individual is either motivated to succeed or motivated to avoid failure. Individuals who are motivated to avoid failure will strive for mediocrity while those motivated to succeed are usually standing on the podium.
